There’s a reason our confections are the best around. Many of our recipes were originally dreamed up by Don and Katy Kilwin, our founders.
When they first opened the original Kilwins store in 1947, Don and Katy had no way of knowing just how popular their chocolate treats would become. Now, Kilwins has locations across the country, including our Grand Haven ice cream store.
Since then, we’ve been dedicated to preserving the recipes that we’ve shared from the beginning. The process for making our Heritage Chocolate reflects the traditional way Don made it over 75 years ago, and our caramels are still made using his unbeatable recipe. Even our Original Recipe Ice Cream is inspired by Don’s values and techniques from 1985.
At our Grand Haven location, you can find TUTTLE™ Nut Caramels, Heritage Chocolate Bars, and Extraordinary Everyday Truffles delivered from our Kilwins kitchen. Our warm decor is amplified by the aroma of freshly made Mackinac Island Fudge, hand-paddled on marble countertops like it was over 70 years ago.

Once our ice cream is made, the ice cream arrives at our Grand Haven ice cream store in our very own temperature-controlled ice cream transport trucks. After much testing, we decided that this was the only way to ensure our ice cream quality through transport.
